by car: To Melle: from Paris/Poitiers : take the Poitiers-sud (A10 Paris-Bordeaux)exit from the autoroute, and follow the D950 (Poitiers-Lusignan-Melle-St Jean d'Angély). from Nantes/Niort : from Niort take the D948 follow the directions to Melle from Bordeaux : leave the A10 Bordeaux-Paris at St Jean d'Angély and follow the directions to Poitiers and then to Melle. from Bordeaux : leave the l'A10 Bordeaux-Paris at St Jean d'Angély and follow the direction Poitiers and than to Melle. by train: You can take the TGV to Poitiers, St Maixent l'Ecole or to Niort from Paris and hire a car. You can also take to Eurostar from London (Waterloo) and change at Lille onto the TGV direct to Poitiers. by plane: there are flights from London Stanstead to Poitiers with Ryanair (Buzz). It may be possible to fly to La Rochelle. At both airports you can hire a car. (Europcar, Hertz, Avis) view a map of the region
